Something Strange In The Neighborhood

There's something weird going on at the University, in one of the science wings.

Even though all the doors are locked, and there's supposed to be nobody in there, I've seen lights on and shadows moving around.

This could be connected with the disappearances we've been having on campus. No one will talk about it, and the cops say the three students that have gone missing so far have just "runaway", but I don't believe them. One of the students was a girl I know, Jessica Cantebury. There is no way she'd run off, not with her perfect boyfriend and her perfect grades and her perfect hair, and her so-perfect-it-makes-me-want-to-puke smile. No way she'd give me the satisfaction of running away.

Something fishy is going on...

And Then A Hero Comes Along...

With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

You know, even though that song is older than me (I heard it on the oldies station the other day), it seems somehow appropriate today.

You see, I almost got mugged... or worse last night.

I was heading back from the library on campus, just minding my own business, when a group of thugs started following me and yelling catcalls about my hot ass. Now, I'm not going to say I don't have a hot ass, because I do, but it isn't exactly something that you discuss late at night on an empty street in New York, you know? Besides, the things they said they were going to do with my hot ass would've made a callgirl blush. And I am certainly no callgirl.

Just as those jerks almost caught up to me, I ducked down an alley in a last-ditch effort to evade them, when I saw a shadow move out of the corner of my eye. The shadow materialized as a super-hot, sexy woman wearing a dark suit of some kind. Now, I'm not that kind of girl, but I'm sure that any of you drooling guys out there would be sitting with pillows in your laps after seeing this hottie.

Well, this statuesque heroine, with nothing but her fists, put that group of guys to sleep in five seconds flat. The weird thing was, she didn't make a single sound as she did. No boot scrapings on the ground, no grunts of exertion; totally silent. Even when one of the thugs stumbled to his feet and tried to attack her from behind, she casually took him down with a punch that I bet would've cracked concrete.

Now, I didn't want an upside-down kiss or anything, but I had to know who this savior of mine was. I managed to stammer out a question (being still a bit shaken up at this point), and the heroine glanced at me, seemed to think for a second, then spoke a single word, and vanished into the shadows once again.

Thats what she said, that's my new hero, er, heroine.

Did I mention how totally hot she is?

Good-bye Sophomore, Hello Junior!

Well, I just finished up my second year at Empire State University. Finally! Only two more years to go then I'm done with the education system for good.

I can't wait till next year, when I get to finally pick what courses I'll be taking. I think I'll definitely take "Supervillains Through History", and of course the required "Adv. Science of Mutations" and "Theory of Radiation Powers". I still have until August to decide for sure, so I guess I'll sleep on it.
